COURSE DESCRIPTION & OVERALL GOAL
This conference will provide updates of current diagnostic and treatment modalities for testing and treatment for TB infection, testing among immunosupressive patients,12 dose regimen for treatment of TB infection, management of TB and diabetes, TB infection among persons with HIV, contact investigation and molecular diagnostics in TB. The format will include lectures, discussions, and case studies.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This conference is designed for clinicians who are involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and managment of patients with TB infection and TB disease.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants should be better able to:
- Apply current advances for the diagnosis and treatment of TB infection
- Discuss the benefits and limitations of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of TB and implications for clinical decision-making
- Evaluate current approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of TB infection in children
- Discuss diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for the management of drug resistant TB
